The book is The Brothers Karamazov, by Fyodor Dostoevsky, whose novel Crime and Punishment is one of my favorite books ever. I’m reading this older book of his and loving it, but it’s the abridged version :( I did find the book for free though, so I can’t be totally sad. Also, I picked up The Tender Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald at Goodwill yesterday, so I’m excited to start that one soon too :)
I checked on my scholarship I’m getting for this program, and I’m 99% sure I’ll get to send it to my school and get it refunded right back to me, meaning that I’ll be sitting more comfortably next school year than I thought I was :D My job I still want to get will just be me keeping ahead in life, well, that’s the game plan at least :p
Right now, the biggest oil companies are raking in record profits—profits that go up every time folks pull up into a gas station. Think about that. It’s like hitting the American people twice. You’re already paying a premium at the pump right now. And on top of that, Congress, up until this point, has thought it was a good idea to send billions of dollars more in tax dollars to the oil industry.” —
I definitely voted republican last election, but I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with President Obama’s leadership, frankness, boldness, and actions.
